HGTV Dream Home Giveaway 2020 Event
When Belgard reached out to us last year and invited us up for a private tour of the HGTV Dream Home 2020, we were more than happy to oblige! We were so grateful to be selected, along with 5 other influencers, for a behind-the-scenes tour of some lucky winner’s new home!
“The HGTV Dream Home 2020 is a three-bedroom and three-and-a half-bathroom two-story home, surrounded by jewel-toned blues and restful greens, nostalgic neutrals with pops of coral and blush pink. The home sits on a piece of property surrounded by twisting live oaks packed with rich lime greens and deep blues and browns. The exterior was painted blue-gray with navy blue shutters to stand out amongst the lush landscape and provide a timeless and calming look. The approximately 3,500 square foot home boasts a gourmet kitchen, vast great room, expansive laundry and mudroom and a large, multi-purpose entertaining space upstairs. The greatness of the house welcomes guests upon arrival with white southern style rocking chairs on the front porch and a walnut stained front door with glass panels allowing guests a line of sight through the house and into the backyard oasis. Upon entering the two-story foyer, you are met with the expansive great room and an adjacent dining room and kitchen in an open concept floor plan. Custom art dots the walls with nods to nautical and Low country life. The Great Room overlooks the retractable screened porch that extends the width of the home. Porch ceilings are painted in a sky blue to honor the Southern superstition and trick pests and birds into thinking the ceiling is the sky and to build their nests elsewhere. The master suite on the main level opens on to the porch for a gorgeous view and natural light. The outdoor oasis is truly a haven with a rectangular pool seated parallel to the home, along with an outdoor kitchen, fire pit area and views of the salt marsh coastline that make this home an entertainer’s dream. The second floor is a true hangout for guests with a multi-purpose room featuring two televisions, foosball table, and two guest suites. The second-floor balcony is the perfect place to catch a marsh sunset.”

The tour began with a walk up the driveway where Belgard’s contemporary Melville™ Plank pavers neatly welcomed us to the home’s grand entryway. These subtle, but bold pavers combined to create a beautiful structure that cohesively tied the whole property together.
Once inside, EVERY, SINGLE, ROOM was overflowing with life and inspiration that perfectly matched not only the overall design aesthetic of the home, but also the geographic aesthetic of a contemporary coastal dwelling. But the crescendo of the event took place in the jaw-dropping backyard that opened up onto the gorgeous intracoastal waterway—complete with picturesque South Carolina Sunset. From the modern Turin Porcelain Pavers that lined the walkways, to the Ashlar Tandem pavers of the outdoor kitchen, everything exuded contemporary luxury at its finest. And even with temperatures in the low 40’s, the alluring call of the luxury pool was hard to pass up!
To me, one of the coolest Belgard elements was the turf in the backyard that was measured and pre-cut to fall perfectly around every single paver during installation, zero hassle—just roll out the green carpet and voila!
After the tour ended and cocktails served, we all enjoyed simply being in the space, exploring all of the detail and finding new elements.

Just before dinner, we managed to snag a group photo with fellow influencers and the awesome Belgard team behind the lovely South Carolina sunset.
Our hosts were gracious, the meal was phenomenal, and the conversations were even better :)
The night concluded with tasty beverages and s’mores around one of Belgard’s contemporary modular fire pits (built with Melville Tandem pavers). Not sure I’ve s’mored it up since childhood—but I’ve been missing out!
All in all, this experience has been one of the best events we’ve been a part of, and we can’t wait to see if Belgard will have us out again next year! Now please excuse me while I go enter for my chance to win the HGTV Dream Home Giveaway 2020…up to twice daily!
